Heart Shrine Relic Tour

I visit the heart shrine relic tour and I was very impressed! The vibs are incredible and the people are beautiful.
It's a must!

A unique and precious collection of more than 1,000 sacred Buddhist relics will be permanently displayed in the Heart Shrine of the completed Maitreya Buddha statue in Kushinagar. Meanwhile, it is the wish of the Spiritual Director of the Maitreya Project, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, that the collection should travel throughout the world to bring the blessings of the relics and the message of loving-kindness to people everywhere.
The relics were found among the cremation ashes of Buddhist masters. They resemble beautiful pearl-like crystals. Buddhists believe the relics are produced as a result of the master's spiritual qualities of compassion and wisdom. Since we can all develop these qualities, the relics are a reminder of our own essential nature of purity and our inner potential to manifest that. The collection includes relics of the historical Buddha and the Buddha’s closest disciples as well as many other well-known Buddhist masters from Chinese, Indian, Korean and Tibetan traditions.
Visitors often report experiences of inspiration and healing when in the presence of the relics. While some are inspired to pray for world peace and to develop their inner wisdom, others are overcome by emotion as the powerful effects of the relics open their hearts to compassion and loving-kindness.

Timing your Meditation

An easy option for timing meditation practice is a meditation CD or a MP3 player!

Our wave and MP3 files consist of various lengths of silence as an aid to meditation practice. A bell is rung once at the start and three times at the end.

You can use the 30 or 60 min wave files to make a audio CD, or you can copy the various MP3 files to your computer or MP3 player to listen to the audio files.

NOTE: Using Netscape Navigator: hold "Shift Key" down and click on link. Using Internet Explorer: click right mouse button on link and select "Save Target As" option.

Some files are compressed for your convenience! You need to unzip the files first!

Inflatable Meditation Cushion :: Get the perfect posture

http://www.wisdomtravelers.com/

Today, there are various types of meditation: Vipassana Meditation, Zen Meditation, Healing Meditation, anscendental Meditation and so on. The list is endless.

But one thing they have all in common: to sit in a correct posture, sometimes for longer periods of time, to perform meditation.

For beginners (and even long term meditators) to sit in a correct posture for long periods of time can be a very difficult mission. To sit, without discomfort, is not an easy task. Meditation requires a correct sitting position and regular breathing patterns; any physical discomfort causes disturbance of the body and mind.

The traditional meditation cushions are often filled with buckwheat or kapok and they are bulky and difficult to transport. Inflatable Meditation cushions on the other hand are light, easy to carry and excellent to store.

I like the traditional way of sitting, using a cushion and a seat to sit. I decided to get a meditation set from Wisdom Travelers. These meditation sets fit in a little bag and weight just 550g (cushion + seat!). This inflatable meditation set is filled with foam and it's inflated by air. These cushions are designed for people who suffer from leg and back pain. The inflatable meditation cushion distributes the weight more evenly than traditional meditation cushions. This minimizes the pressure on the body, especially the pressure on the sensitive points. It's simply like sitting on air.

I have quite some leg and back pain….it will be a good test.

Right out of the box I opened the valves and the inflatable meditation cushion and seat are inflating automatically! But you should blow them up a little harder to start with.
The meditation set looks beautiful and it feels very smooth on the skin. The materials they use are high tech and even environment friendly. I also got a cushion cover, it fits perfectly on the meditation set!

I tried it a few times with different air pressures until I found the right hardness for me. I was very surprised how hard this combination of foam and air can be. After I found the right hardness it took me only a moment to realize the potential of this inflatable meditation set. The pressure on the sensitive points is reduced so much, I couldn’t belief it! On a traditional cushion I had always lots of pain and I had to open my posture many times in one session. Now I am able to sit for longer periods of time in a relaxed and natural way without suffering.
I had no idea that an inflatable meditation cushion can make such a difference, now this cushion is my one and only to sit on every day.
A cushion is a good cushion when you forget all about it while sitting. And that’s what happened to me. It’s a great way to meditate!

Highly recommended!
